Abstractions set of principles for Robert Coto remains a way to explore the nature of
how form, color, line, surface and geometric relationships define perception. The
compositions establish an intuitive state or tension that has to do with seeing
as an experience.
The attention to the
presence & absence of space and form a reductive approach to abstraction,
intuitively addresses the plane by bringing into focus an engagement at seeing
through composition. Investigating a reductive approach that reaffirms conceptual ideas that have a set of
practices that define and expand how one perceives.
